Battery Regulation

Notice on the Disposal of Batteries and Accumulators (Rechargeable Batteries)

In connection with the sale of batteries/accumulators or the delivery of devices containing batteries/accumulators, we are obligated to inform you of the following:

Used batteries/accumulators contain harmful substances and resources. By returning them, they are sent for environmentally friendly and resource-saving recycling. Batteries containing harmful substances display chemical symbols such as Cd for cadmium, Hg for mercury, and Pb for lead. The symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin is visible on them! Used batteries/accumulators must not be disposed of in residual/household waste!

As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries. Used batteries/accumulators that we carry or have carried in our product range as new goods can either be sent back to us with sufficient postage or returned free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Municipal collection points, such as recycling/materials collection centers, also accept used batteries/accumulators. Before dropping them off, the terminals of high-performance accumulators should be taped over, if possible, to prevent short circuits.

What should be considered for a return? Due to the dangerous goods regulations for accumulators over 99.9 Wh, returns must be arranged by you! The same requirements apply to return shipping as to the original shipment: For example, if lithium-ion accumulators are to be returned, the package must have the corresponding label! The accumulator must be securely packaged and stored undamaged in the package. There must be no risk of a short circuit, and accidental activation of the accumulator must also be impossible.

If possible, a return should always be made in the original packaging. If this is no longer available, the accumulator can also be sent in another package. The following must be observed here: The package must have the appropriate label - a sticker or a UN warning symbol. This can be downloaded from the internet, then printed out and affixed to the package.

Accumulators/batteries that are sent back to online shops for disposal are always subject to Dangerous Goods Class 9. Therefore, they must be labeled accordingly and require better/more secure packaging than intact accumulators/batteries.
